V-Series Compact Horn subwoofers represent the most sophisticated in design and performance for that addictive horn bass sound - alive, realistic, powerful, airy.

Models in different size, visual appearance and tuning covering any need for bass, for music or movies.

A vertically large acoustic port for directivity control in the upper bass range gives the V-Series their characteristic appearance.

V110
Compact Horn Subwoofer

Solid capacity all the way down to the very lowest frequencies, combined with slam and impact in the upper bass range.

The most powerful unit in the V-Series, tuned for music and movies. This is full-size sound in a reasonably sized format.

110dB/20Hz/1m/2π
Frequency range
14Hz - 200Hz
Dimensions
1140mm/420mm/420mm
Amplifier
SA-700 (Powers up to 4 units)

V80
Compact Horn Subwoofer

Sophisticated appearance, visible driver, slim shape.

Tuned for music, still suitable for movie, with full frequency range and decent capacity.

An alternative to the V110 in a different shape.

Output capacity
110dB/20Hz/1m/2π
Frequency range
16Hz - 200Hz

V6020
Compact Horn Subwoofer

Elegant for the dedicated 2-channel music system.

Tuned for music, with capacity similar to the larger V110. You get the same punch and power and definition, the only thing you loose is capacity in the very deep bass below 20Hz.

Slightly smaller, with shape and visual expression that appeals to the design oriented. The tuning makes it an ideal choice for music, where capacity requirements below 30Hz are less demanding, and the low end extension improves sound quality by providing better transient response.

The V6020 replaces the discontinued V6030. Different tuning and internal construction has improved performance to achieve extension down to below 20Hz, while keeping the same capacity and sound character in the mid and upper bass range.

V6
Compact Horn Subwoofer

Small and cute for high quality horn bass sound when loud is never required.

Sound character similar to the larger horns, in a very compact format.

Tuned for music, suitable for movies as long as you keep the volume at reasonable level.

compact horn
subwoofer

Addictive bass in a small package - a difference you can both hear and feel physically.

The sound from a horn bass system is addictive - the sense of realism, effortless impact and clean, powerful bass.

The Compact Horn Subwoofer technology introduces new methods for designing horn subwoofers with high performance in a smaller package - which can actually fit in to your room.

The new designs exploits this Compact Horn technology further.

Multiple damping channels increases usable bandwidth making it possible to cover ultra-low frequencies up through the upper bass range in one relatively small unit - with excellent sound across the whole range.

Acoustically large vertical horn mouth improves coupling to the room for smoother response and even more of that powerful tactile feel.

simulation and tuning

Tuning of the horn determines the sound.

Tuning means choosing dimensions and shape of the horn path. Using extensive simulation in the design process makes it possible to adjust tuning to match a desired sound character, and predict with great accuracy how the horn will sound and perform.

In more technical terms, the horn dimensions determine usable frequency range, frequency response, output capacity and time impulse response.

Simulation also reveals any side-effects of the horn loading, such as resonances or ringing. To eliminate these faults has huge impact on sound quality, and the Compact Horn technology with damping channels and simulation-based approach makes it possible to achieve smooth response.

Horns do definitely not sound the same. Choice of tuning and the design process in use has huge impact on the end result, much more than in a typical sealed or ported box.

They are difficult to design, but also very rewarding when you get it right.

configuration and placement options

Flexibility for optimized sonic performance and esthetics in your room.

Shape and dimensions are designed to occupy as little space as possible, and provide alternative placement options.

The horns can stand upright, they can be placed in corners, away from the corner, horn exit facing in or out.

They can lay down flat, creating a shelf.

Stacking two units doubles capacity and improves coupling to the room - more and better sound. Height is chosen specifically for this stacking in mind.

amplifiers

External amplifier units with DSP - digital signal processing - powers the compact horn subwoofers.

With decent efficiency the horns require only moderate power to deliver massive acoustic output. Absolutely silent operation with no cooling fans, draws less power making it easier to install larger systems, compact size.

Default configuration settings for each subwoofer type includes limiting for protection and reliable operation.

Real DSP functionality for optional calibration using acoustic measurements, including support for advanced multi-subwoofer calibration.

The amplifier cabinets are made in wood, with black oiled finish.

capacity compared

The larger V110, V80, V6020 models have similar capacity above 30Hz.

Requirements for sub bass below 20-30Hz should determine model selection.

The V6 has significantly less output, dimensioned for moderate listening levels in small rooms.

The frequency response in a room will be very different from this graph, which shows the response in anechoic 2π environment. Expect low cut-off around 12-14Hz, more tilt towards lower frequencies and an overall response that is less smooth.
