Why are the later pictures so much better looking compared to the early ones?
Simply a matter of effort put into the 3D CAD model. Creating a good looking model takes time and effort, and it is never necessary for creating the technical drawings needed to build it.
How does it perform compared to the larger units, like V110?
Generally, performance follows size. Larger equals more powerful bass, especially low bass bass will be better. T8016 is around 30% smaller compared to the large format units, and larger than the T6018. Expect performance noticeably better than T6018, slightly less in the low bass compared to the larger. But stacking 2x T8016 will give much more output, even in the low bass, compared to one larger unit, while occupying only slightly more space, same height, some larger footprint.
